a while ago i heard they were trying to add ron artest to the team in a trade that would add some star power and quite possibly change kobe's mind about leaving l.a.

is this true?

if it is exactly how will this benefit the lakers?

do you think putting "me me me" kobe and "riot maker" ron on the same team is a good idea?

I don't know if Sacramento ever came out and confirmed that Artest was involved in the trade, but yes, I heard tthe rumour too.

Besides Kobe, I don't see any other good defenders on the Lakers squad. In Ron Artest, you have a lockdown defender who brings toughness and scoring.

Kobe and anyone on the same team is not necessarily a good idea, but you need 5 on the floor, right? Same with Ron...dude is straight up insane, but most teams without a strong core would get better by adding him to the roster.

If the trade went through, I think the Lakers get better. A lot better. Shoe-in for the playoffs, at least. They would have 3 consistent scorers and 2 good defenders. Would they be able to now beat either San Antonio, Dallas, or Phoenix???

No, but it would be fun as hell watching to see if Kobe would ever get up in crazy Ron's face....

this Was a rumor a while back before season started. but it died out fast. its not going to happen. plus i dont think artest would fit in well anyways. lakers have plenty to fill that SF spot, hes not a necessary player to trade for.
well they need a good forward and a good big man.Also,I believe that kobe's sick of having terrible players and would be pleased to have ron on the team.Another thing that I must add ron is an incredible defender and would make the lakers defense better.
